Contract Cheating in Iran: An Overview of Key Issues and a Call to Action

In our descriptive exploratory qualitative study, we investigated the issue of contract cheating in Iranian higher education contexts. Through analysis, provide insights into measures taken Iran to prevent and mitigate its effects. Our study analyses secondary data including scholarly articles, published media, country’s current policies. Results showed that more empirical primary from which draw definitive conclusions is needed, as such, developing an evidence-based body knowledge about prevalence characteristics remains a persistent call action. analysis studies (n = 102) grey literature sources 195) overarching lack university accountability; students’ motives for engaging cheating; appropriate legislation were enabling factors. We conclude lags behind other countries with regards what known how address it; action increased supports education; policy legislation; scholarship.
